Rice milling process
  • The production of parboiled rice involves an extra hydrothermal treatment before the husking process.(Links to a study on hydrotheramal threatment)
  • Cleaning →Soaking →Steaming →Drying →Husking → Paddy Separating → Whitening → Grading → Color Sorting → Polishing  →Packing.
  • After steaming, the paddy is dried and cooled, then processed in the same way as white rice.
  • The additional process gelatinizes starch and denatures the proteins, giving the rice a unique texture.
  • Compared to white rice, parboiled or partly boiled rice has a higher head rice rate, lower breakage, longer shelf life, and higher market value.

  • Put your harvested paddy directly from your truck into the pre-cleaning machines to remove any impurities (e.g., straw, stones, ropes, and dust).

  • ANON provide a set of pre- cleaning machines along with the rice parboiling machine, such as cylindrical pre-cleaners, vibrating screening machines, and destoners. 

  • Soak the paddy until it reaches sufficient water content (around 40%).
  • This step is essential to ensure the paddy is heated thoroughly during the next process.
  • ANON ensures this process is completed efficiently within a few hours, depending on the grain type.

  • This is the key process to modify the starch structure and extend the shelf life of the rice.
  • Our rice parboiling machines complete this step in approximately 25 minutes at over 120°C.
  • Of course, the processing time and temperature can be adjusted according to your requirements or grain type.

 

  • Paddy must be dried to a specific moisture content to prevent breakage during milling.
  • For example, the milling process requires the paddy to reach about 14% moisture content.

By adjusting the temperature and timing for each rice type, we produce parboil rice that are tougher and more resilient. Also, the drying stage is divided into two steps for the HIGHEST rice yields. First, the fluid bed dryer quickly reduces moisture content, while the second step, the low-temperature recyclable paddy dryer, gently lowers moisture without causing micro-cracks.
